The New Zealand wine growing region Marlborough lies on the southern island nestled between the Wairau and Opawa rivers. At the estuary of the two currents, and hence the nearby Pacific Ocean, the vineyards of the region are Dillon's Point, named after its former owner Constantine Dillon, the son of an English duke. And right here, where the Sauvignon Blanc may enjoy an incredibly long maturation period, the family today
Giesen Winery, makes wine for over 20 years, a portion of its Vineyards.
All right, it's no Cloudy Bay, but that is not the measure of all things. Giesen
sets its own standards. The short description would be: completely Sauvignon Blanc. The long version is more like: bright yellow takes the glass and can be cheeky flash of greenish reflections. Grab one is a mouthful, is exactly what the nose could catch previously: currant, gooseberry, a little grapefruit, passion fruit, perhaps, very little grassy notes, but citrus. Just as one would walk in Rio de Janeiro through a fruit market.
The temperatures of Brazil is it with us probably as Do not fast (more), but have a little wistful reminder to pour yourself into the glass yes. With all the fruit the way, the elegance is not too short, so who is credited with a fruit compote, unfortunately far from it. More of a, salade de fruits frais' with just as fresh and harmonious acid is found here in the dessert bowl - er drink!
