OpenOffice has a wizard for MailMerge. This wizard has failed in all previous versions. Database fields are not shown, an ordinary Merge Preview is not possible. Printouts are possible only with a workaround.
The project aims to create a functioning module Mailmerge, covering the Wizard by following these steps: select the data source
- inserting merge fields by dragging and dropping or selecting
- link or editing fields via scripting
- preview
- selection of records that should not be merged (enumerative or range limits)
- Selection of the output medium (printer, file or e-mail, by email input option of subject)
- preview with output option
